Waiting Time Indicator
Hong Kong is one of the most highly-populated cities in the world. In 2018, government statistics showed that in a single weekday, over 4 million passengers take the public train system.
Passengers often suffer from unexpected travel delays because stations get so crowded that it’s hard to tell when you might actually be able to get on a train. C&R developed an AI ‘Waiting Time Indicator’ to estimate the waiting time to actually board a train once inside the station. Using vision-based algorithms, mathematical models, and machine-learning algorithms, this system can accurately estimate waiting times with an accuracy level of over 90% on peak hours.
